This has included individuals that had previously completed the Community Sports Leadership Award or the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification. Amanda Cotterell recently started a full-time job as a swimming pool lifeguard. Amanda, aged 28, from Rowley Regis, was one of the first recruits to successfully complete the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ), qualifying as a lifeguard. She now works at the Swethwick Swimming Centre in Thimblemill Road.
“I’m so chuffed,” said Amanda. “If you had told me a few months ago that I would have a professional qualification and in a full-time job, I would have laughed.
